ABIDJAN, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara has reaffirmed the country's commitment to multilateralism, stressing that today's global challenges require concerted and collective responses.

"On the international stage, Cote d'Ivoire has continued its engagement in support of multilateralism, in which it firmly believes," Ouattara said Tuesday in Abidjan during a ceremony with the diplomatic corps.

He said that the world is undergoing "profound transformations," marked by persistent geopolitical tensions, security challenges, economic fragilities and the impacts of climate change.

Expressing his conviction that "global challenges call for concerted and united responses," Ouattara said Cote d'Ivoire would continue to work with its partners to promote "shared and sustainable development."

On the domestic front, the Ivorian president recalled achievements in the political, economic and social spheres, while reaffirming the country's commitment to consolidating "strong, sustainable and inclusive" growth to improve living conditions.

He said the country will implement the National Development Plan for the 2026-2030 period, calling on partner countries and institutions to contribute to that goal.

He expressed hope that such support, based on "trust, dialogue and mutual respect," would effectively contribute to the implementation of public policies and reforms undertaken by the Ivorian government.

"I hope that 2026 will be a year of shared economic progress, the consolidation of peace, and the strengthening of bonds of friendship and cooperation among our states and with international organizations," Ouattara said. ■
