JAKARTA, May 2 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from a train-car accident in Grobogan, Central Java, Indonesia, rose to five, police said Saturday.
Kumala Enggar Anjarani, a local police officer, said the latest victim had been referred to a hospital in Semarang before being pronounced dead, bringing the death toll from four to five.
The accident occurred on Friday night at a level crossing in Sidorejo village, where a car carrying nine people was hit by a train and thrown about 20 meters before falling into a rice field.
An investigation is underway, while the community-managed crossing was reportedly unattended at the time of the accident. ■
