MANILA, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Personal remittances from overseas Filipinos reached 3.23 billion U.S. dollars in November 2025, the country's central bank said Thursday.

Cumulative personal remittances in January-November 2025 rose by 3.2 percent to 35.73 billion dollars from 34.61 billion dollars recorded in the same period of 2024, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said Thursday.

Personal remittances cover cash transfers sent through banks and informal channels, as well as in-kind transfers of goods.

The United States remained the largest source of remittances during the first 11 months of 2025, followed by Singapore and Saudi Arabia, according to the BSP data.

Remittances from around 10 million overseas Filipinos continue to be a key pillar of the Philippine economy, accounting for about 9 percent of gross domestic product and placing the country among the world's top 10 remittance recipients, according to the Asian Development Bank. ■
