SINGAPORE, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's economy grew 2.9 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, advance estimates from the Ministry of Trade and Industry showed on Tuesday, easing from the 4.5 percent expansion recorded in the previous quarter.
On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted basis, the economy expanded 1.3 percent, slightly below the 1.5 percent growth in the second quarter, the ministry said.
The manufacturing sector was flat from a year earlier, slowing from the 5.0 percent expansion in the previous quarter. Output declines in the biomedical and general manufacturing clusters offset gains in other manufacturing segments, the ministry said.
On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted basis, manufacturing rose 6.1 percent, rebounding from a 0.7 percent contraction in the second quarter.
The construction sector grew 3.1 percent year-on-year, moderating from 6.2 percent in the previous quarter. On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted basis, the sector shrank 1.2 percent, reversing a 6.5 percent increase in the prior quarter.
The services-producing industries also posted year-on-year growth in the third quarter. ■
