SHENZHEN, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- China's leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, BYD Company Limited, has reported strong profit and revenue growth in the first half of 2025.

The Shenzhen-headquartered company said that it achieved a revenue of 371.28 billion yuan (about 52.3 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of the year, which was up 23.3 percent year on year, and a net profit attributable to shareholders of 15.51 billion yuan, up 13.79 percent compared to the same period last year.

The automotive sector, including vehicles and related products, remained BYD's primary growth driver, whereas revenues from mobile handset components and assembly services declined, the company said.

Notably, BYD significantly increased its R&D investment by 53.05 percent in the first half to total 30.88 billion yuan during the period.

The company has also reported robust sales growth, with NEV sales reaching 2,145,954 units -- up 33.04 percent year on year. ■
